BIOGRAPHY

Past and Present

Aged 19, I left my hometown of Birmingham to begin my studio life as a staff engineer for Island Studios in London.

Island Records was renowned for its eclectic artist repertoire, which required of the engineers to learn a variety of engineering and production skills. I had the good fortune to record some of the most varied, exciting and talented artists of the day, including Bob Marley, Free, Cat Stevens, Paul McCartney and Led Zeppelin.

At 24 years of age, I moved to LA , engineering and producing as a freelancer, working on artists including guitarist Albert Lee, Booker "T" and The M.G's and Robert Palmer. I continued working for Island through their LA office. On return to the U.K in the mid-eighties I continued working with most major labels (Sony/Reef, Waterboys/Ensign, Mica Paris/Island) and at many famous studios, including Abbey Road and Air.

Recent projects include remixes of Bad Company albums "Bad Company" and "Straight Shooter" as well as the mixing of their first live album. Also, five tracks on Gary Moore's new album "How Blue Can You Get" and Black Sabbath's Vol.4 album box-set were all mixed at TQ1 Music.

I now work mostly from home here in glorious Torquay Devon; mixing, mastering and song production.
